Meeting Recap

A meeting recap is a short written summary sent after a meeting — what was decided, who committed to what by when, and the next date. It exists because commitments have a half-life: agreed on Tuesday, remembered differently by Friday, gone by the following week unless someone wrote them down and sent them around.

The recap that works is short (two paragraphs), same-day, and specific about owners and deadlines. The reason most people skip it — twenty minutes of writing after every meeting — is exactly why it's worth automating: an assistant drafts the recap in your voice from your notes and captured tasks, and follow-up tracking chases the commitments in it. See the full system in how to automate meeting follow-ups.
